About the Festival

Founded in 2024, the International Junior Piano Festival in Uozu was inspired
by the vision of Miyoko Nakaya Lotto, a distinguished pianist and educator who served as assistant to the legendary Sascha Gorodnitzki at The Juilliard School.

Set in the unique “Manabi no Mori” campus, often described as a “paradise for pianists,”the festival provides an exceptional environment with numerous grand pianos, practice studios, and an intimate concert hall.

Participants from Japan, the United States, Taiwan, and beyond gather each summerto study, perform, and share unforgettable musical experiences.

Important Notice  Regarding the Concerto Workshop

Due to the unexpected cancellation of a national arts grant program, the planned performance opportunity with Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa has unfortunately been cancelled.
After careful consideration, we have revised the festival schedule so that students who applied for the Concerto Workshop will still be able to participate in a workshop led by Prof. Péter Kiss with piano accompaniment on July 12, and perform their concerto works at the Final Concert on July 13.
While we deeply regret that the orchestral collaboration cannot take place this year, we remain committed to providing meaningful musical and educational experiences for all participants.
